Fabio Sciarrino
Assistant professor at the Physics department of Sapienza University and Junior Fellow at Scuola Superiore di Studi Avanzati Sapienza.
Fabio Sciarrino, of Italian and French nationality, was born in Napoli on 10 May 1978. His research activity focuses on experimental quantum optics, quantum computation and information, and on the foundations of Quantum Mechanics. His experimental activity has led to the development of new techniques in this field, and has also contributed to the understanding of the foundations of quantum mechanics and of quantum information theory.
In 2010 he won the project HYTEQ (Hybrid Technologies for Quantum Information Processing) funded by FIRB - Future in Research for young Italian researchers. In 2012 he was awarded an ERC grant Starting Grant-Consolidator 3D-QUEST (www.3dquest.eu). He is the coordinator of the european project Marie Curie Initial Training Networks (ITN): PICQUE (Photonic Integrated Compound Quantum Encoding) starting in September 2013 (www.picque.eu). He teaches Quantum Information and Computation at the Physics Department of Sapienza University.
He is the author of more than 100 publications in international journals (among which 10 publications on Nature journals) and about 100 oral presentations at national and international conferences.
