Today, June 25th, the National Council of Research (CNR) celebrates the ninetieth anniversary of its foundation. 'Challenges. The stimulus of research, the incentive towards innovation' is the title of the inaugural day of the celebration of the main Italian scientific institution. Besides celebrations, the eventi will also be an occasion to relaunch research policy in Italy - as highlighted by Pietro Greco on L'Unità - following Vito Volterra's example, who first dreamt up and realized the project of CNR.
