Six hours after launching their Soyuz TMA-09M spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Expedition 36/37 Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin of the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos), NASA Flight Engineer Karen Nyberg and Flight Engineer Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency arrived at the International Space Station and were greeted by fellow crew members, station Commander Pavel Vinogradov of Roscosmos, Flight Engineer Chris Cassidy of NASA and Russian Flight Engineer Alexander Misurkin, who have been on the outpost since late March.
Yurchikhinm, Nyberg and Parmitano are scheduled for a five-and-a half month stay onboard the orbital laboratory.
